Bad Berleburg. Construction has been in full swing for months in Herrengarten – opposite the Bad Berleburg grammar school. The New Capitol is scheduled to open this autumn. Visitors can then look forward not only to a cinema experience and events, but also to a new restaurant and hotel. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on September 1, 2021. Two job advertisements are already available online. Wanted: an operator for the hotel/restaurant and/or a head chef. “Option A for us would be to find an operator for the Capitol. Alternatively, we are also looking for a head chef who would be employed by HCK GmbH & Co. KG and who would develop the gastronomy concept together with us,” explains cinema project manager Carolin Lünser upon request.
The job advertisements
“Diverse gastronomy in a new modern restaurant with 115 seats, a centrally located hotel with ten rooms and two suites, cinema events featuring blockbusters, live culture with concerts, readings or cabaret,” reads the opening of the job advertisement. Cinema, restaurant and hotel combined – that is the plan for the New Capitol in Bad Berleburg. The investor is HCK GmbH & Co. KG (as reported). And it is precisely for this interplay that someone is now being sought for the leading role – in short: an operator. “The project planning team is looking forward to motivated personalities whose passion lies in gastronomy, hospitality and cinema.” But what should applicants bring with them? Professional experience in upscale gastronomy and hospitality, experience in staff management, personnel deployment and budget planning, as well as solid business knowledge would certainly be advantageous, according to the job description.
In return, the potential operator can look forward to a new kitchen equipped with high-quality appliances. “It is important to us to shape the Capitol together,” says Lünser. In addition to a modern kitchen, the future Capitol will also offer modernly equipped rooms “with a connection to cinema.”
As an alternative to an operator – as already mentioned – a full-time head chef is also being sought. This person would be responsible for the smooth operation of the restaurant kitchen at the Capitol. Creativity is also required, as the head chef will develop the concept of the New Capitol together with HCK. Further responsibilities, according to the job advertisement, include menu planning, active food preparation, quality assurance, presentation and service of dishes. “The head chef is responsible for the entire kitchen staff and ensures compliance with occupational safety and hygiene regulations,” it states.
It remains exciting: this autumn, the first guests are expected to enjoy both the culinary offerings and the cinema experience in Bad Berleburg.
