In her book “The Tunnel Builder,” author Maja Nielsen tells the gripping story of Joachim Neumann, who, after escaping to West Berlin, built three tunnels with friends to bring his girlfriend and other GDR citizens to the West. An event organized by the Berleburg bookstore on the theme “65 years after the construction of the Berlin Wall.”
