“Nature photography from tiny to wild.” This is the theme of a lecture featuring fascinating images, presented by Dr. Wilfried Pinzl on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the New CAPITOL in Bad Berleburg. Admission is 10 euros. Tickets are now available in advance at the cinema box office at the New CAPITOL. Seating is limited.
Until 2021, Wilfried Pinzl was managing director at the EJOT site in Tambach-Dietharz in Thuringia. Since his retirement, the 68-year-old has continued to work for EJOT in an advisory role.
His great passion is nature photography. His interest in photography was sparked during childhood and has never left him. Over the decades, Wilfried Pinzl has built up professional equipment, which he uses not only in his home region of Thuringia but also on distant continents.
For years, he observed and photographed a swan family at a lake in Thuringia: “I became ‘friends’ with the swan family and followed them over several years while they raised their young,” says Pinzl. “If you can study an animal over a long period of time, you inevitably capture fascinating images.”
His special passion is macro photography. In addition to the endless variety of subjects in the macro world, macro photography offers ideal conditions to approach a subject with patience and creativity, creating unique compositions through the interplay of shapes, structures, and details.
In his lecture, Wilfried Pinzl takes the audience on a journey into the world of the very small – insects, flowers, and tiny living creatures. This is followed by an extended stop with the acrobats of the sky, birds, inspiring us with their skill and beauty. The finale becomes wild – as wild as the main protagonists from distant lands: elephants, lions, and tigers.
